Goddess Bhuvaneswari holds the fourth position among the Dus mahavidya’s. The word Bhuvaneshwari is a sanskrit word which means the queen of the universe. Goddess Bhuvaneshwari is the ruler of the whole universe. She controls and influences the situations as per her wish. Bhuvaneshvari (Sanskrit: भुवनेश्वरी, IAST: Bhuvaneśvarī) is a Hindu goddess. She is the fourth amongst the ten Mahavidya goddesses in Shaktism, and one of the highest aspects of Mahadevi. She is identified as Adi Parashakti in the Devi Bhagavatam.

She is described as “Jnana Swaroopa,” the highest form of wisdom. It is also said that Bhuvaneswari has so much power that a mere glance from Her gives boons to the goddesses Lakshmi, Parvathi and Saraswathi. She confers confidence, sympathy, beauty and wisdom on them because all these qualities are within Her.

As such, she is seen as the source of all creation.

Goddess Bhuvaneshwari is the incarnation of Goddess Parvati. Bhuvaneshwari means the queen or ruler of the universe. She is the divine mother and the queen of all the worlds, who has four hands and according to scriptures she has a dark complexion and the entire universe is depicted in her nails.

Maa Bhuvaneshwari is a glowing red in complexion –just like a rising sun- and looks similar to Maa Tripurasundari. She dons a crescent moon on Her brow and is heavily clad with jewelry. The jewelry symbolizes the importance of the material world. She is also sometimes shown as holding a jeweled drinking cup filled to the brim with gemstones, reminding us that She is the source of all abundance. 

She sits on a Lotus Throne and has Three Eyes that symbolize Her awareness of the past, present, and future. 

She holds a noose and a goad, implying that it is She who creates all Maya and has us under the veil of Maya but it is also She has the power to cut the veil of illusion and set us free. 

Her otHer two hands are in Abhay Mudra and Blessing Positions respectively.
